IMPRS-Age and the CECAD Graduate School are offering a joint graduate programme with 15 Fully Funded PhD Fellowships.

The International Max Planck Research School IMPRS-Age is the new graduate school of the Max Planck Institute for Biology of Ageing established together with the Max Planck Institute for Neurological Research, and the Center of Advanced European Studies and Research (caesar). The overall goal of our institute is to understand the natural ageing process and to discover longevity mechanisms that enhance health and ameliorate age-related diseases.

CECAD Cologne is the unifying driving force bringing together researchers and clinicians of the University and the University Hospital of Cologne. CECAD Cologne is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) within the Excellence Initiative of the German Federal and State Governments. The mission of CECAD is to unravel the molecular mechanisms underlying lifespan regulation and ageing-associated diseases. CECAD’s long-term objective is to develop novel therapeutic interventions.

Fellowship:

15 Fully Funded PhD Fellowships for international training of doctoral students in the highly interdisciplinary field of ageing.

The programme is designed to provide outstanding research training with state-of-the-art facilities and an educational programme geared toward understanding ageing and age-related diseases.

A thesis committee will provide comprehensive support and mentorship for career development. The PhD curriculum is complemented by seminars and courses in ageing-related subjects as well as practice-oriented general skills. Our students receive full funding for the entire PhD period. The environment is international and the programme language is English.
