Depending on how you meet the BBSRC’s eligibility criteria, you may be entitled to a full or a partial award. A full award covers tuition fees at the UK/EU rate and an annual stipend of £13,590 (2011/12). A partial award covers fees at the UK/EU rate only.
Applicants must hold, or be expected to obtain, a 2i or first class degree in a relevant biology subject (e.g. Biology, Zoology, Neuroscience, Animal Behaviour). We are looking for a student who is dedicated to science, who is highly motivated and able to work independently as well as part of an interdisciplinary team. Ideally, the successful candidate will have experience of working with animals (preferably in a laboratory environment), designing and conducting behavioural experiments, and have excellent analytical and communication skills. Computational skills or some training in neurophysiology would be an advantage.
