Postdoctoral position to study Fat metabolism at University of Kiel, Germany
A postdoctoral position is available in the Department of Molecular Prevention at the University of Kiel, Germany. Our group is focusing on genetic and physiological aspects of fat metabolism in C. elegans. Our lab is fully equipped for C. elegans research (i. e. COPAS Biosorter).
The project will be focused on the identification (forward genetics) and characterization of mutants in the context of fat metabolism. In addition, approaches to study transgenerational effects (“epigenetics”) will be established. We are interested in candidates who have strong background and expertise in classical genetics, biochemistry and physiology. Higher knowledge and expertise in bioinformatics could be an advantage. The project will be started in the second half of 2012
