Group Leader position in Toxicology at Piramal Life Sciences

Piramal Life Sciences Limited (PLSL) is an independent research-driven drug company that was recently demerged from Piramal Healthcare Limited (Formerly known as Nicholas Piramal India Limited). PLSL was
formerly the NCE R&D division of NPIL. PLSL has state-of-the-art R&D laboratories built over 200,000 square-feet of space in Mumbai, India and over 300 scientists engaged in drug discovery and development. PLSL is focused on four therapeutic areas – Cancer, Diabetes, Inflammation and Infectious Diseases. The Company has a pipeline of fourteen compounds, including four in clinical trials. PLSL’s lead chemical compound, a Cdk-4 inhibitor, has completed two Phase I studies and is being tested in another Phase I/II trial for Multiple Myeloma. Job Description :
Supervise a team of scientists involved in tasks like design and execution of experiments in rodents to evaluate the toxicological and pathological profile of NCEs; conducting gross pathology of animals during autopsy; conducting experiments using techniques involved in histopathology of tissue samples, microscopic analysis and data interpretation; having experience/expertise in immunohistochemistry. The incumbent will be responsible for leading the GLP efforts in the area of toxicology-train scientists; monitor GLP documentation and communication. He/she will be responsible for monitoring inhouse and outsourced, pre-clinical toxicity studies. The role will involve managing the general and exploratory toxicology scientists, projects-manpower allocation, budgets for the department and administrative matters for the group, in conjunction with the head of the department

Desired Candidate Profile :
Incumbent must have 7+ years of relevant Industry Experince.Must have experince of handling team.The incumbent will be expected to liaise and work well with project teams, discovery and development groups, internal and external customers/colleagues. M.V.Sc in Pathology/M.Pharm & Ph.D in Pharmacology & Toxicology. Post Doctoral experience preferred.
