Applications are invited for the post of Senior Scientist (Agricultural Biotechnology), NIASM, Baramati, Pune [Advt no - 04/2011 ; Item No : 275]

Age limit : The candidate must not have attained the age of 47 years as on 15.11.2011 the normal closing date indicated above.  There will be no age limit for the ICAR employees. Relaxation to SC/ST candidates may be given in accordance with the  orders issued by the Govt. of India/ICAR from time to time.  However, the age for superannuation is 62 years.

Qualifications Essential : Doctoral degree in Genetics/Biotechnology/Genetics and Plant breeding/Molecular biology including relevant basic Sciences with 4 years experience in the relevant subject as Scientist /Lecturer / Extension Specialist or in an equivalent position in the Pre-revised pay scale of  `8000-13,500 having made contribution to research / teaching / extension education as evidenced by published work / innovations OR Doctoral degree in the relevant subject including relevant basic sciences with 4 years experience of high quality post-doctoral research in an institution of repute, evidenced by publication in high impact / renowned journals

Desirable :
(i) Experience in high sequencing, transgene  assembly, gene expression, protein analytics or RNA biology. To work in multidisciplinary team in relevant fields.
(ii) Working experience in plant biology, bioinformatics , biochemistry, plant phenotypes with BT, phytotrons, rhizotrons, nanotechnology in reputed International/national laboratories.
(iii) Experience of guiding scholars, database management, knowledge of patent laws etc.
(iv) Patents to credit.

Note : List of enclosures (with the application in the following order)
(i) Crossed Demand Draft {to be enclosed in horizontal position} for Rs 500/-, valid for 6 (six) months and drawn in favour of SECRETARY, ASRB payable at New Delhi(India). For the candidates abroad, the application fee should be accompanied with a crossed International Bank Draft for US $50 drawn  in favour of SECRETARY,ASRB payable at New Delhi (India). However, the SC/ST/Women/Physically Challenged candidates are exempted from paying the application fee.
(ii) Two envelopes (27 cm × 12cm)  {to be enclosed invertical position}. On the first envelope,name of the post with Advertisement No. & Item no. may be given on the top of the envelope while name of the Forwarding Authority with complete office address of the candidate may be given in the middle of the envelope. On the second envelope, name of the post with Advertisement No. & Item No. may be given on the top of the envelope while name of the candidate and his/her address for correspondence (residential address) may be given in the middle of the envelope.
(iii) Self attested copies of Date of Birth, M.Sc. and Ph.D. degree certificates .(SC/ST/PH candidates need to enclose  self attested copy of the caste/PH certificate also).
(iv) Photographs at the appropriate space(s) in the application form.
